International Conference on Dam Safety Management and Engineering (ICDSME) 2023

The 2nd International Conference on Dam Safety Management and Engineering (ICDSME2023), organised by Malaysia National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD) returns on 16-17 March 2023 at the Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. ICDSME2023 is brought to you by the Ministry of Environment & Water Malaysia (Kementerian Alam Sekitar dan Air), National Energy University, Malaysia (Universiti Tenaga Nasional), Department of Irrigation & Drainage Malaysia (Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), National Disaster Management Agency (Agensi Pengurusan Bencana Negara), National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) and Aqua~Media International Ltd.
The first ICDSME was held in Penang, Malaysia, in November 2019. The successful event highlighted Malaysia’s strong focus on dam safety, as well as advances made in capacity building and the establishment of national norms. The event was attended by ICOLD President Michael Rogers, as well as high-level professionals from 13 countries and welcomed more than 450 international delegates.
The objectives of ICDSME are
- To gather professionals and experts in dam-related fields to discuss and share the latest information and technology to further enhance knowledge in the field of dam safety
- To increase understanding among professionals, experts, researchers, engineers, stakeholders, and the public in the field of dam safety.
- To build new connections and grow the network of dam safety experts and professionals.
